BluePixelAnimations

Hello everyone! My name is Daan. I make animations/simulations for fun using a free program called Blender. Check out my Youtube channel, my Instagram, my Twitter, or my Artstation page for more of my work.

About me

Hello again! My name is Daan. I live in the Netherlands, and I make renders, 3d models, and more random stuff for fun. Before I did CGI, I have learned several programming languages such as HTML, Javascript and Visual Basic. Apart from my Youtube channel, I have a pretty busy life because of school.

Hello random person who I've probably never met!
My name is Daan. I am 16 years old, and my hobbies are making CGI (Computer Generated Imagery), programming, making music, and taking pictures. I take my smartphone with me, almost everywhere. This means that I also have a camera with me. I take a ton of pictures. In 2018 alone, I took 3000 pictures. I also love computers! I think it's one of the best inventions made by mankind! I use 3D software called "Blender". It's free, open-source, and super easy to use! The first time I started up Blender was on January 14th 2017, which means I am not using it for very long, on the moment I am writing this. Still, in the 1 year of using Blender, I learned quite a lot!

But... Why?!
I always have been interested in 3D animated movies. For example, the movie "How To Train Your Dragon" (2010) from Dreamworks really inspired me to start learning to make CGI. The one big barrier that prevented me from taking that first step, was that I never found good software to make 3d animations with. In the beginning of 2017, I found this amazing software called Blender. Blender is an open-source, free program that can do just about anything, like modeling, sculpting, grease pencil, making materials, and even rendering!

Honestly, I was really surprised how easy it was. I started making some simple renders that (let's be honest) looked like total garbage, but hey, what do you expect from a beginner? After a while I felt like I should make a social media account to share all of my crappy renders on! So I did! I made an Instagram account called BluePixelAnimations. I posted some of my very early renders, and some people liked it. Eventually I also got a Twitter account, where I mostly post nonsense and random thoughts that have absolutely nothing to do with CGI. Next, I made a Youtube channel, where I started posting compilations, and other stuff. Youtube took by far the most of my time. Making a single 2 minute compilation video easily took over 2 weeks for me to make. The worst part was rendering. I had to render it all on a renderfarm, and I had all kinds of problems with weird corrupt frames, etc. Though, I still continued doing it as of today, but I don't post nearly as much as I do on other Social Media platforms. How often I upload on Youtube really depends on how busy I am. Though, you should really check it out!

Apart from that, I am trying to get better at Blender, but I am really busy with school. I really hate school, but I think it is really important too! That's why I am not able to post stuff on my Instagram, Twitter, or Youtube channel on a daily basis. However, if you really want to stalk me, I am mostly active on Instagram and Twitter.

Thanks for reading!
I hope you like my website. Feel free to hang out with me on Social Media platforms!

Anyways, have a nice day!

With kind regards,
Daan
